a name to be proud of

I am Reyna Ericka Cardona Padua.

Sounds from a royal family, eh?

Well yeah, proof is I have a cousin (named) Princess and a nephew (named) King Philip.

According to my wonderful parents they always want the best for us so they named me Reyna, because a Queen is more powerful than a Princess. Lucky enough, I wasn't named as a King . . .(King Ericka!)

Another proof they want the “best” for us is that they named my brother, Ferdinand Marcos Cardona Padua, because our cousin named from one of the famous senator then.(tah-dah!)

Well I got my name Ericka on my father's favorite alias, Eric. Obviously to make it sound feminine they put “ka” on it, that’s why it became Ericka.

WARNING: Don’t you ever misspelled my name Ericka (I have a classmate for 3 years and she still doesn’t know how to spell my name right! She texted me Erica or Erika, duh?!) so for you to be safe just call me Eri. Just never misspelled it. It’s frustrating.

Honestly I’m very happy with my name, not only because my parents gave it to me but also it’s not a nonsensical name.

Definition of my name:
Reyna
Origin: Pure, Clean
Meaning: Queen

Ericka
ricka, er(ic)-ka\ as a girl's name is a variant of Erica (Old Norse), and the meaning of Ericka is "forever or alone, ruler".
Origin: Norse
Meaning: Eternal or Honorable Ruler

Let me share a story of a guy from high school, he was being bullied in school because of his silly parents who named him Cather. Well, the name Cather is very nice, sounds foreign, but it is not oh-so-nice when your last name is Pilar. Imagine Cather Pilar.

So for the future parents out there give your kids a sensible and a name to be proud of.

“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.”- Proverbs 22:1
